How YooBeeDoo Works

YooBeeDoo is the latest penny auction website to go live on the internet for UK residents. The idea is to place 'bids' on an auction item and have the higest bid when the timer reaches 0. Sounds like any other auction site doesn't it? Thankfully YooBeeDoo is a new type of auction site with a very unique way of playing.

A video explination of how these auctions work can be found here

*Update*

A few people have seen the video and still say to me 'I don't understand'. Some people eh? If like them you still don't understand how it works im going to break it down for you as simply as possible. Damn I'm a nice person lol.

Ok, so above we have the 'grid' that bidders use to try and win an item. As you can see, there are lots of 'blocks' with numbers in them. These are called the 'bid blocks'. Now as the bidding starts the colours of the bid blocks will change. Here is a quick list of what each colour represents:

Green - A bid block that no player has placed a bid on.
Grey - A bid block that another player has placed a bid on.
Purple - A bid block that you have placed a bid on.
Red - A bid block that has been eliminated and cannot win the auction.

So now lets look at all of these colours on a grid.

Here we can see a bid placed by you (purple), a bid placed by other players (grey), the eliminated bids (red) and lots of spaces no one has bid on (green).

Hopefully you are all still with me by this point :)

Right, next I'll cover the eliminated bids. Every time a player puts a bid on the grid, the HIGHEST bid block is 'erased' (red). This means that the erased bid block is eliminated and cannot win the auction. This bid erasing feature is what really puts YooBeeDoo on the map as a unique bidding site.

Let's go back to our original picture. We can see that the grid is completly green and no bids have been placed. We can also see that the highest possible bid on this grid is 48p.

Now if we place a bid, the highest bid block which is 48p will be 'erased' and will become red.

Because the 48p bid block has been eliminated, the new highest bid block on the grid is 47p. If another bid is placed the same thing will happen as before - the highest bid will be eliminated from the grid. In the picture below you can see that the 47p bid block has been eliminated by another bid being placed on the grid.

So, a few things to remember:

- EVERY TIME someone places a bid, the highest bid block will be erased, regardless of its colour. If you or another player own that bid block as it is erased, you lose that bid and it cannot win the auction.
- The idea is to have the HIGHEST BID on the table without it being ELIMINATED when the timer reaches 0.

Winning is now no longer down to pure luck like other bid sites. A real element of skill, wits and cunning is required to walk away victorious. Using the information on this site (and with some patience and pratice), any auction will be yours for the taking.
